This was by far the worst hotel experience in all our years of travelling abroad.
The photos of Emir’s Garden on Booking look luxurious, and it was also the most expensive hotel of our trip. After a sleepless night on the train, we arrived exhausted but full of expectations — only to find that the building looked like an abandoned construction site. My heart immediately sank.
Still, the lobby seemed somewhat normal, so we left our luggage there, as it was not yet check-in time. But when we returned later, the staff suddenly changed their attitude. Pretending to make a call to the manager, they handed me the phone — only for a voice on the line to tell us that there was a “problem” and we could not stay there. They offered to “transfer” us to another hotel.
In a rush and with no other option, we followed their staff to Dendi Plaza Hotel, a few minutes away — and then were left there on our own. Soon we learned that Emir’s Garden had already made a booking under our name without paying, and Dendi Plaza demanded $112 in cash, no change given, even though the room was clearly of a lower standard.
We have every reason to believe this is a scam arrangement.
Three days later, we heard from other travelers who experienced the exact same situation — some were even told others could check in while they couldn’t. It’s clear this hotel had plenty of time to inform its guests in advance, but instead waits until the moment you walk through the door. Why?
Stay away from this place. This is not a misunderstanding — it’s a deliberate trap.
